Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand a sporting detail more clearly, whether it is a rule, a tactical choice, a format or an object used in play.
What makes a good pitch
Propose one focused subject and explain the question it answers, why a curious reader might care, and how the piece will make its explanation clear. Strong ideas are specific, evergreen and useful without relying on predictions, unverified claims or first-hand testing.
What to include
Send a short outline, the intended category and a note about any specialist context the piece needs. Tell us what material would support the explanation; do not present guesswork as fact or reproduce another writer’s work.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A proposal is not a commission, and we may not be able to reply to every submission.
Understanding the game makes watching richer
Rules and tactics are not trivia at the edges of sport; they shape what players can do and what viewers can notice. We explain the details without assuming you already know the jargon.
